Policies & Procedures

Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Unless it is an unavoidable detainment (illness or emergency), 50% of the full amount will be charged to the card on file if the cancellation is within the 24 hour cut-off period or if it is a no-show appointment. You may cancel your appointment outside of the 24 hour window contact your therapist via email (jeff@trueselfbodywork.com) or through your confirmation email.

Client Policies

  • Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your appointment in order to fill out paperwork and ensure that our time together is maximized.

  • If you arrive late (up to 15 minutes), the treatment will still end on time so as to not push back later appointments and you will be responsible for the full session fee.

  • To maximize your body’s ability to heal please arrive hydrated and sober. Hydration allows for higher efficiency because your muscle tissue is more pliable and generally happier. Coming to a massage having consumed alcohol will counteract the therapeutic benefits of the treatment and due to the nature of moving fluids around the body can make you feel worse post treatment.

  • Please communicate any injuries, medical conditions, and medications taken in the last 24 hours.

  • This is your time to relax, so if you have ANY questions before, during, or after the treatment that can help you feel more comfortable, please ask! Your therapist is a licensed professional, but YOU are the expert on your body. Feedback on pressure, positioning, temperature, music, lighting, aroma, and anything that could make your experience more comfortable is greatly encouraged.

  • Please turn your cell phone to silent or off during the treatment. Unplug and unwind. Feel free to charge up your device in our convenient USB ports!

  • Wear whatever level of clothing that makes you feel the most comfortable on the table. The only item of clothing required to be removed are shoes. Some people just remove shoes and others remove all of their clothing. No matter your level of clothing you will always be covered by a sheet and a blanket, except for the area the therapist is working on. By law genitalia, breast tissue, and gluteal cleft (butt crack) are required to be covered at all times.

  • Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, resulting in the end of the massage and likely the termination of the therapeutic relationship.

  • If you’re sick, STAY HOME! Your body is working hard to get back to health and a massage will increase blood and lymphatic circulation, doing more harm than good. Even if this is within the 24-hour cancellation period, you will not be charged for the cancellation as long as you reach out to the therapist before your scheduled treatment time via phone or Email.

  • Good hygiene is greatly appreciated. Please shower the day of your treatment. Cover any open wounds (cuts, bug bites, scratches, scrapes) to help your therapist avoid causing further damage and call their attention to the area to avoid.

  • Payment is due at the end of the treatment. Cash, checks, venmo and major credit cards are accepted.
